Peshawar Literary Festival: Two Seasons of Stories, Poetry and Dialogue

Over two vibrant seasons, the Peshawar Literary Festival (PLF) has become one of Pakistan’s most dynamic cultural gatherings. Organised by CLADO, the festival has welcomed more than 6,000 people — from children to senior citizens — to celebrate literature, art and open conversation in Peshawar.

A programme for everyone

PLF brings together authors, poets, artists, journalists, academics, policymakers and community members. Across its first two seasons the festival has offered:

• 15+ panel discussions on literature, society and the future of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa
• 3 mushairas celebrating the poetry of the region
• 4 theatre performances and 2 musical performances
• 15 workshops for young writers and artists
• Literary activities for children, art exhibitions and interactive stalls

Why a literary festival in Peshawar matters

CLADO was founded by young people who lived through the war on terror in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and saw how conflict silenced arts and literature. PLF is our answer: a public, welcoming space where culture leads the conversation and young people shape what comes next.
